Organization Overview
The Office of Investments oversees a multi-billion dollar endowment broadly diversified across a range of asset classes. The primary role of the endowment is to advance the research mission of the University through support of the annual operating budget. Endowment assets are invested in public securities, including U.S. and non-U.S. equity and fixed-income securities, and private investments, including private equity, venture capital, and real assets. The assets are invested by external investment managers through separate accounts or commingled vehicles, including funds, trusts, and limited partnerships. In addition to overseeing the endowment, the Office of Investments plays an active role in planning and executing the University's external capital program, including debt financings and interest rate swaps, and in maintaining the University's rating agency relationships. The University is rated Aa1/AA+ by Moody's and Standard and Poor's.
Overview
The Junior Investment Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Office of Investments.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Managing Director of Investments / COO, the incumbent will perform a broad range of activities, including, but not limited to the following:
- Assist in the active monitoring of the portfolio across public and private markets, including exposure, pacing, and performance analyses.
- Attend and participate in internal research and investment committee discussions. Assist Senior Staff with due diligence including attribution and comparison analyses and assist in the preparation of investment recommendations to present to the Investment Committee.
- Perform ad hoc analyses of the portfolio, individual managers, markets, thematic areas of interest, and co-investment opportunities. Assist in preparing, editing, and organizing materials (including performance reports and investment research memos) and summary reports on a monthly/quarterly/annual and or ad-hoc basis for both the investment team and the investment committee.
- Review key documents such as manager letters, annual meeting materials, capital calls, distributions, tax reports, and legal documents.
- Work with the operations team on keeping performance and analytics platforms current and accurate. Collaborate on the implementation of additional analytical systems. Contribute to research projects on different investment strategies, markets, geographies, and industries.
- Additional duties and special projects as assigned.
- Proficiency in excel and data entry required.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- The ideal candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, able to prioritize, and work independently. Exceptional analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills are necessary. Excellent communication, organization, and writing skills are required. The ability to work efficiently and effectively while maintaining attention to detail is required.

- Prior experience in financial markets preferred.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on various factors, including but not limited to organizational budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The hiring range provided represents The Rockefeller University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
